Grapes

July 25, 2024

Here is a summary of the ripening of our table grapes.

Chinese Black grape, too early to test sugar.  Bunches are full and well proportioned.

Marquis seedless slip-skin grape, too early to test sugar.  Healthy clusters.

Reliance seedless grape, just starting signs of changing color to pink.  Too early to pick.  However, the sugar is already at 15 brix.  This will be our sweetest table grape.  Wine-makers love making wine with this variety.

Himrod seedless grape, just starting signs of changing color to golden yellow.  A little early to pick.  The sugar level is at 15-18 brix, and the taste is very nice.  Still a little thick-skinned.  This will probably be our best year for this grape.  We expect the sugar level to climb very high this year.

Everest seedless grape, not changing color yet.  Too early to pick.
