Mutsu is an excellent dessert, salad, and cider apple. It has a sweet, light flavor when cooked, and it holds its shape well. Mutsu can grow quite large (a pie may require as few as three apples). Its skin is yellow with a slight orange blush, and the flesh is white to pale yellow.  Mutsu is one of a small number of varieties which really is dual purpose - being both pleasant as a dessert apple (albeit too large for 1 person) and versatile in the kitchen.

Mutsu (Crispin)

  • We usually start picking Mutsu the last week of September until the end of October.

  • During harvest season, we are very busy keeping up with local orders.  We do pick some Mutsu for storage in our refrigerated cooler.  We do not ship this variety.
